What is it about mushy romantics?

Ever since I started watching films, there has been one thing in my mind always. No matter what, I won't judge a film. People say 'I didn't like this-n-that film. It was boring; not worth my time.' But for me, it's always, 'Well, it was good; even if it was boring.' It doesn't go like I'm forcing myself to accept that just because the people behind the movie have put on a great show but because I really had  a good time; may it be watching alone with my earphones plugged in or with my little gang of friends with a bowl of popcorn to snatch from. I feel like I connect with the characters, may it be a damsel in distress or the brave blonde you get to see in every Hollywood Rom-Coms. And getting back to Rom-Coms, I would say they are extremely imaginary but yet heart-warming to the core. They make you feel that everything going to be okay even if it is okay. It's like an illusion but who doesn't wants to be in an illusion if it makes you feel good. No, I don't want to listen to people who prick the imaginary balloon of happiness by saying out loud 'COME BACK TO REALITY'. Let me dream!. Let me imagine! And maybe others think them to be a little 'mushy' but for me, they are just the perfect combination to go along with a cold glass of coffee to shoo my headache and set my imagination on a ride.

Everyone's bound to feel something about these mushy Rom-Coms. But even I feel that maybe the writer is misleading the audience by not showing the reality which follows after the 'happily ever after'? But this isn't a reason to hate a film isn't it? All you need to do is to question yourself - Did you have a good time? Yes! I did.
