For the old times sake......

34
You know the time when we were small and dreamt about being old. Specifically not being old but being big adults. But don't you also remember the time when we were scared of being old... 'the crooked legs and crooked teeth' wala old?
I do. And being an Arien, it brought the hell out of me! But today.....browsing the 'Shows We Love' section of 'TVF Play', each and every show of the 90's made the flashbacks literally flash back in my eyes. The sitting on the cot and talking for hours with the large joint family, your different nicknames kept by different people, 'chai' in winters while 'aam panna' in summers.....and...  Oh Yeah! Those summers!
Even though it was really hotter in Central India with dry heat across the land slapping off your skin, summers were just worth it to be at home....wait for the morning to wake up early so that you can choose your own type of bread from the bread vendor who came on cycle and then, wait for the 'doodhwala' - the Milkman who came with his motorbike especially with the 'paan-wali' candy and orange-wali candy for me. And then wait for the afternoon where when you get hungry before everyone starts to eat, you would've got a garma-garam roti with ghee and namak on it. Yumm! My mum said that eating that increases your appetite but after eating that I didn't crave for other food but only that 'gheewali roti'. Evening would get us tired and I always waited for my dad to come home only because he would offer me a ride on his 'Bajaj scooter' like he did in the morning before he went to work and then I would ask for the Nataraj Pencil, the Rubber, and the new colored Sharpener which then would've gone into my collection as everyday they did. ........ Those days were priceless! as everybody says.....But for me they were old. Old times which won't come back to make me cry just because my parents were not letting me go to school.......on a SUNDAY!
These were the old-school times, the now already old which pushed me up at that time. Now I have realized that I want to be old but not the future-old but the old which already had its birth with a kick-start in 1997 - the past old. The 90's.....this is how old I wanna be.
