Disclaimer:
I'm a human who questions everything
I'm the one who can even question your existence
So first think then question an 'amateurs' point of view
about how to channel a nations resources in the right flow
We talk about humanity, yes we do and that too in a very profound way. We also talk about development and growth and all the things which describe about progress. But what does Progress or Development or Growth actually contain when you see it from a massive nation's point of view? I have been questioning this from the time I heard the word 'nuclear'.
These things were beyond my understanding at that time. I didn't question their existence at that time. Ofcourse! I didn't because why did Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed with these 'chote packet me bada dhamaka' thing is still beyond my conscience. People talk about how cruel the world is and how doomed we are to witness some of the greatest wars in mankinds history but they will never question what went wrong at the time all these things started or the time when all these nuclear bombs started arriving in the industrial market or when they were invented.
Why do nations spend on these things? When Barack Obama visited India, one or two...Nope....most of the T.V news channels were comparing 'The India' and 'The USA' on the grounds of GDP, the population, infrastructural facilities, rate of tourists per year and also the number of fighter planes, war equipments and the ammenities which each of the nation holds. First of all, I don't understand why these news channels kept on bickering about what the two nations shared equally when it was the matter of simply a visit by a foreigner to India. Well, that's an old fact because Indians have a thing for foreigners. Atithi Devo Bhava!
Secondly, the ammunitions that each of the nation held and the explicit amount of what they were trying to buy in the recent future also held great importance to the news editors as if the entire nation was waiting only for this revealation. I'm not criticizing on the basis of their quantity, no because that doesn't matters to me unless you give me something meaningful.
What is the meaning of these things when 3/4th of your population continues to stagger on the paths of development? Why to spend on useless things when there is something more important and more precious - the lives of common man? I know this sentence is a paradox but according to what I've learnt, the priorities of a human being start from physiological needs to social security and then to self-esteem. So why to skip the first step and start to run when you don't even know how to walk?
For a nation like India which needs more food than more jet-planes and equipments, its extremely necessary to prioritize things again.
Its not that I don't understand the importance of 'National security'. I totally am aware of the fact that we can face war or any sort of danger from enemies anytime but I have only mentioned to 'prioritize' things and not to eliminate them totally. Spending on a rocket may seem more important because of the answer you get to the question of whether it is possible to live on Mars or not but when the lives on the earth itself are suffering........you complete the rest.
