Well, though we have crossed more than '60 years of Indian Independence', we still haven't eliminated the 'quota system' from our economy. Whether it is education, jobs or a simple debate, we tend to give the scheduled castes the first chance.
We have all witnessed our side of the argument, isn't it? I'm talking about how the reservation proved to be a curse for the 'open category' in India and the shame we had to face in front of our relatives who say,
"Beta....aap se na ho payega! Aap toh OPEN category se ho... Tsk..tsk..tsk"
Well, this is what we have heard. But ever thought what the 'sane side of scheduled caste' thinks about it. (Well yeah, there is a sane side which thinks reservation isn't the way to success while the insane side thinks that it was a boon.)
Yes it proved to be a boon, but only for a limited time. Now talking about the sane side( the meaningfully educated side without racism and casteism in their attitudes), don't you think they must have figured it out that all that reservation did to their lives was that it brought a hike in their economical status and then it crashed down their mentality like a roller coaster? They must be thinking that why does half of the world(surely India is a very populous country because half of the world resides in it), is against them from the time they got independence.
People have now begun to think that it is necessary to 'change' the Reservation System.... Yes, change because eliminating it will only lead to dominance of open category on the other side in the future as a revenge. Change in the sense means mending the basis of it. The system is based on Caste system but we need to change its basis into 'Income System' because education and getting jobs have become a business now and therefore evaluating ones source of income will not only help us giving the less privileged ones a chance but will give the open category an equal opportunity too.
Whatever the debates going on on Reservation, there's always sarcasm related to it. And well, sarcasms aren't meant to be taken seriously. People need to understand this. Get this in your head.
#This wasn't sarcasm so I'm sure no ones gonna sue me atleast.
#But it was a taunt I guess for the ill-systemised policies of our country.
